Origins Only

Around Christmas time I ran out of my old moisturizer and the Sephora I happen to stop at did not have a large one in stock. Although I was distraught I figured with all the gift sets they had at the time I was bound to find a good deal on something different to try.

I had been using Origins Night A Mins for a while and I loved it! I saw a set that included that, my favorite eye cream, an anti aging serum and the GinZing moisturizer. I immediately hopped on that one being as I already used 2 of the 4 products in the box.
I went home with my goodies and tried the GinZing moisturizer the very next day. While I began applying it I noticed it smelled like freshly squeezed oranges, which I did not mind because the scent seemed to wake me up and for a morning moisturizer to do that is a plus in my book. I also noticed it felt velvety not thick or heavy on my face. After about 5 minutes my skin looked glowy but not oily and all the moisturizer had absorbed. Another plus for me, I hate when moisturizers just sit on top of your skin and make you feel all gunky. I applied makeup and went about my day. I did not notice any excess oil throughout the day or flakiness.

After  a few weeks of use I was smitten! I absolutely fell in love with this product. I had tried to find the right regimen for my skin after years of acne (read about it here) and I thought my previous moisturizer had done that. But this GinZing felt 10 times better and my skin responded with a glowing happiness.

No makeup here

The 1.7 oz jar lasted me until the beginning of May. As a Mother's Day gift Luis gave me a Sephora gift card, so I went online shopping- I love getting the free samples when I go online. I was going to order the GinZing again, but for some reason I leaned toward another brand with another set of goodies. Well after much debate I decided I would give the new brand a shot. Big mistake!

This was Mother's Day I used the last of my GinZing this day

You can see that my complexion still looks decent and has that slight glow. No blemishes only a tad bit of scarring from previous years of acne. I know I am wearing makeup, but trust me, my skin was healthy here.

This was 2 days ago, after just 2 and a half weeks of using the new product.

As you can see I have blemishes on my cheeks, forehead and chin. My skin looks and feels oily. My makeup does not set properly. I am just a hot mess!

Luckily I kept my receipt and headed to a Sephora 3 towns over to return that stuff and get my magic GinZing. I seriously cannot wait until this stuff is out of my system and my face is back to normal. I realize that for some people it takes a little while for your skin to get used to a new product, but this did not happen to me in December when I switched products. I just could not risk my face getting worse. I hate that feeling of constantly wanting to hide my face because of blemishes.

This is not a sponsored post, so I get nothing out of this except the satisfaction of telling you Origins is an amazing product line. I use their eye cream, night cream, masks, and again my magic cream and with all of their products I have seen amazing results. If you are shopping for a new brand give Origins a try. It might seem a bit pricey, but honestly buying bargain products end up costing you more in the long run if they don't work. You owe it to yourself to look and feel confident in your skin.

Here are the products I use:

  3. The facial wash I use is orange scented. That citrus scent in the morning is a great wake up call.

  4. I also have adult acne-prone skin. Its so hard to find a good product that will respond well to your skin. I have yet to try Origins, but I might have to give this a try and see how I do with it!

  5. I do love some Origins from time to time. I don't use their products exclusively, but I do love everything I've tried from them. Their charcoal mask used to be the only mask I used! xx adaatude.com

  6. Thank you for being so honest with this review... I'm very serious about what I use on my skin. I have sensitive skin that breaks outs every time I change products. Thanks for sharing, you are so beautiful!!
