It's Been a While

It's been a long 3 months since my last blogpost. In fact I pretty much took the Summer off from writing. I have missed it more than I can even begin to describe. The truth is that I tend to put my passions on the back burner for other things that may be a bigger priority in my life. Not that writing and this blog is not a priority because it truly is. I felt my computer calling for me every day to just give it some love, but family, work and chores took priority over the keyboard.

Summer Bucketlist

Summer is here! The kids are out of school, the sun is out, the parks and beaches are ready for us. But if you are anything like my family you want to do a little more than lounge around all summer. So I made a little bucket list for my family to check off this summer.

Catch Up With Me Again

I have been so busy the last couple of weeks I have had almost no time to sit down and write a post. May and June always end up being busy months for us. With Birthdays, our anniversary, Mother's Day and Father's Day, getting sick, graduations, and work time seems to be against me. So, today I wanted to catch you up with what my clan has been up to.

Legoland California

A few weeks ago we took a trip to Legoland. I am the type of person who hates really long lines and the rush of the weekend so we went on a Wednesday. We actually left the night before and stayed at a hotel just 15 minutes away from the park. It gave a little more excitement to our trip.

Friday

Friday Faves

Happy Friday and well wishes for June! It's my birthday month so I am particularly fond of June. Today I am sharing my go to beauty products. I have been using all of these products daily or I pick them up when I am in a hurry because I know I can count on them looking decent and help me look decent.

Wednesday

Andis At Home Haircuts

We used to take the boys to get their haircut at those cute little salons that have those airplanes or cars the kids get to sit in. After they had let the lady cut their hair they got lollipops- you know those places?! I paid $20 to $25 per kid and they always ended up with choppy looking haircuts. Not once did they ever do it the way I asked them. A couple of times they even cut Abrams ear and they started to become terrified of going to get haircuts. Naturally Luis took a few online courses and started cutting the boys hair at home. (And by online courses I mean Youtube.)

Friday

Josiah Walks

From the time I found out Josiah would be born with clubfoot, I wondered if he would ever walk. I lost sleep over this one question countless nights. Would he walk someday?
He was born on Mother's Day May 10, 2015 and I instantly fell in love with him and his precious little feet. I no longer wondered if he would walk someday because deep down I knew he would and that I would do everything in my power to make it happen.

Five Fact Friday

It's been awhile since I gave you a little info about myself, so today I thought I'd give you 5 Fabulous Facts about myself. (Not really that fabulous😕)  Hope you enjoy getting to know me more.

Wednesday

Recycling Old Crayons

Months ago I did this activity with Eli and totally forgot to post about it. We use these "dino crayons" all the time, I don't know how I forgot. This is the perfect activity to do with kids on a rainy day or when you just want to get them to be artistic!

Monday

VII Code Oxygen Eye Mask

Being a mom to 3 little boys is a lot of work! Which means- I don't always get the rest I need. Let's be honest moms, we mom hard! The early mornings, the late nights, the ALL day tantrums, the cooking, the cleaning, the playing, it all takes a toll on one very important and very noticable thing.... Our Face.

Tuesday

From a Clubfoot Dad

My blog is mainly geared toward women. I share motherly thoughts, beauty insight occasional recipes and my family's lifestyle. Today however, the post is written by the man in my life. The one who God has sent to keep me sane! I asked him to write this post a while back ago and I am so thrilled to share his thoughts on what it's like to be a clubfoot daddy to our son Josiah.

Friday

Books Your Child Will Want to Read Again and Again

I wanted my boys to develop a love for books early on, so I began reading to them while they were still in the womb. I had heard/read somewhere that the sound of my voice or daddy's voice was soothing to them, so we figured why not just read. We continued that tradition with every child and it worked because all 3 of them have a crazy love for books. When we go into a store the first place they ask to look at is the books. My older 2 are starting to outgrow some books so I wanted to share them with you before I forget what they are.

Some First Steps

As I sat there watching Josiah play I couldn't help but smile. His little face bring so much joy into my heart. Yet in the back of my mind I wonder if he's okay. Are his feet fully corrected? Why do I feel like something is not right? Every clubfoot check up they say his feet look great and his dorsiflexion is on point, but then why is he still not walking? I shrugged off this question for months because their answer was always something along the lines of, "He needs more time. He will do it when he is ready. Some kids just develop a little later." Finally at his 18 month check-up I insisted that his pediatrician refer him to a developmental therapist.

My Colourpop Collection

Happy Valentines Day! Today I want to share the newest love in my life. I can't even lie. I am so head over heels for Colourpop, it's not even funny. My husband is probably so sick of hearing me talk about the new shades I'm eyeing and new launches, but I can't help it, they are AMAZING!!

Monday

Speaking from the Heart

I recently experienced the first loss of someone I felt a strong attachment to. In fact it was 2 weeks ago today that the man who helped raise me and I saw as my second father, passed away. I have not taken to it very well and in fact I can't think about him without crying still. I had a chance to see him at the hospital to let him know how much I loved him, but still there is so much more I wish I could have said.

Wednesday

When Raising All Boys

Congratulations! You are the mother of multiple boys! Aren't they just perfect. (Staring off into space) Their eyes just melt you. Their touch so sticky yet so incredibly loving. Oh and those hugs- just before they go off to save the world from some evil villain who has set out to destroy the backyard, those are by far the best hugs you could ever receive. You my friend are the coveted... BOYMOM!

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone I'm back! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. I know it's been quite sometime since my last post. I truly am sorry. I just really felt the need to take a break from the blog and social media to just enjoy my family and loved ones. Sometimes I need to unplug and appreciate the little things. I rarely took out my camera, which I have to admit I later kicked myself for, but we did make beautiful memories. Luckily my husband managed to take a few snaps here and there.
