From a Clubfoot Dad

My blog is mainly geared toward women. I share motherly thoughts, beauty insight occasional recipes and my family's lifestyle. Today however, the post is written by the man in my life. The one who God has sent to keep me sane! I asked him to write this post a while back ago and I am so thrilled to share his thoughts on what it's like to be a clubfoot daddy to our son Josiah. 

Some First Steps

As I sat there watching Josiah play I couldn't help but smile. His little face bring so much joy into my heart. Yet in the back of my mind I wonder if he's okay. Are his feet fully corrected? Why do I feel like something is not right? Every clubfoot check up they say his feet look great and his dorsiflexion is on point, but then why is he still not walking? I shrugged off this question for months because their answer was always something along the lines of, "He needs more time. He will do it when he is ready. Some kids just develop a little later." Finally at his 18 month check-up I insisted that his pediatrician refer him to a developmental therapist.

19 Months and Counting

The time has come to give you a Josiah update! My little man is a whopping 19 months people. Where the heck did time go!? I feel like just yesterday I held those curly feet for the first time, yet here we are straight little feet that drive me crazy every day.
