Hello Summer

It is so easy to get caught up with life and all its occurrences and completely forget that I have a blog! I am so sorry for my absence the past 2 weeks, but I have been so busy having a fun summer. And since I haven't had a post where I give you details about us in a while, today I will do just that.

Abram has been the man of the month for us. He completed 1st grade. I was so happy when I saw this picture Luis captured of us leaving for school that last day because even though I look a hot mess, we are holding hands. I always hold his hand and give him a little pep talk on our way to school.

I am so proud of Abram and everything he accomplished this school year. His year began really rough. He was not very fond of his teacher and he seemed to get bored quickly in class. After speaking to the teacher I realized Abram was just ahead of most of the class and he was not being challenged enough. With some moderations his year got better and at the end of the school year he received a very meaningful award.

Those morning pep talks Luis and I give him paid off. Abram received an award for trustworthiness. I get emotional with this still. Abram is so honest, no matter the situation he always seems to do the right thing. During the vice principal's speech she stated not very many awards like these were given and I felt so honored to be the mother of a recipient.

We spent Father's Day at my father in laws and even though we are not used to all the heat, we had such a blast!

The kids have so much fun there, it's so tough when we tell them it's time to go. Eli was crying so much. I felt so bad, we always wish we could stay longer. There has always been talk about moving closer to the family, but now that the kids are getting older I feel like it is very possible soon.

I am so blessed to have married into this family. I know my kids gets genes from both sides and I am so glad they are half them. This is such an honest and humble family to be blood with. I love them so much.

Josiah has such a special bond with grandpa. He had a hard time getting off of that lap to come home. It's very beautiful to see their special bond. We can't wait to visit again.

In the meantime summer around here has been daily walks, park visits, play dates, lots of soccer, movies, games and sleepovers in my bed. Some days having so many boys takes a toll on me. I have been telling Luis I need some me time, hopefully with him! My birthday is next week so hopefully between now and then I can find a brave babysitter!

I hope you are enjoying your summer. What kind of activities do you do with kids throughout summer? I would love some ideas to keep the kiddos entertained.

  1. So glad you're getting a chance to soak in some family time! These photos are just beautiful - such a lovely family! We have been doing a lot of the same things, walks, swimming, library, and play dates. Hope you get a chance to get out with your hubby to celebrate your birthday!

    1. I hope so too! Momma needs a big break! I need to get brave and take the boys swimming, but I am afraid it might be too much work for us alone. You are so brave doing it while hubby is working!
