Master Palette by Mario

I have had the Master Palette now for a week, so I have had the opportunity to give it some good use to be able to bring you my honest review on how I feel about it. This is not a sponsored post, so all opinions are my own and I was not paid to review it.

I want to start off  by saying I just discovered Anastasia when the Modern Renaissance palette came out. I reviewed that beauty here. So prior to that palette I had heard of Anastasia products, but never had the impulse to buy them. I fell head over heels for the Modern Renaissance palette, so when I heard Mario, (who in case you didn't know is Kim Kardashian's makeup artist) was hooking up with them I was so curious.

I purchased my palette through Sephora because I love racking up points and getting 3 free samples with my orders, but as far as I know you may also order through Macy's and is rumored to hit stores the 24th of this month.

I am going to be honest I am not in love with this palette. I like it A L O T, but it's not my favorite. I actually prefer the Modern Renaissance. I do feel the colors in the Mario Palette are beautiful, however they are very dupeable. I can probably say I can find close matches to these hues on a Morphe Palette or even some Mac singles I already have. However what makes me keep this palette is the texture of the product. It is very creamy and easily blendable. The pigmentation is lovely, while there is some fallout, if you use the proper brush and tap it on your lid instead of brush it all over, you can avoid fall out. There are 9 shimmers and 3 mattes, which gives you 2 less than a normal Anastasia palette.

I do feel like this is an everyday palette for a Latina with my skin tone, I can't speak for other skin tones. I am not fond of the color Claudia, I feel like instead of that color they should have added another matte color. It's not blue it's more like a gray. Not very much of an everyday color for me.

My favorite color of the whole palette is Muse with Nyc in close second. Those are both very lovely neutrals with that reddish brown look that's perfect for fall.  Below I swatched the palette at night because I feel like the colors kind of look even more shimmery in the night light. From left to right is Hollywood, Nyc, Kim, Muse, Marina and Claudia. At the center there, you will see the matte shades starting with Lula, Isabel and Violetta. The last three are 5th Ave, Bronx and Paris.

My overall review of this palette is that it is definitely a gorgeous palette, but not at all unique. If you are looking for a unique palette that is both awesome for everyday use and for crazy pops of color then buy the Modern Renaissance instead. You will get more bang for your buck. Now if you get your hands on both palettes you can make absolutely stunning looks since the Modern Renaissance has more mattes to transition with. If you are a collector of beautiful palettes, like me, than buy it! You deserve to spoil yourself. This is a limited edition palette so once it is sold out it's sold out.
