Apple Crispers

It is officially 6 days from Thanksgiving Day!!! 🙌 I don't know about you, but literally can not wait! I will be hosting my own Thanksgiving this year and I needed a little help with a dessert recipe. So I asked my lovely friend Brittany from Everyday Thoughts to come up with one for me to share with all of you! I can't wait to try this!

Hello beauties, I'm Brittany from Everyday Thoughts, a lifestyle blog with a focus on family life, faith, and food. I'm a mama bear with two blonde-haired, blue-eyed boys who drain me of all my energy and fill still manage to fill my heart daily. I love spending time in the kitchen and most of the time when I'm there my three-year-old can be found by my side mixing, mashing, and creating general mayhem with me.

I cook from the heart so I'm so thankful for the opportunity to share this recipe with you today because even though we haven't met, I get to share a piece of my heart with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. If you're interested in some of my other favorite recipes - like how to make a perfect Thanksgiving turkey in a crockpot - you can check them out here.

Individual Apple Crisps

Ingredients:
4 medium - large apples (I suggest a tart variety: Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Rome or Greening)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup butter, softened - plus - 4 tsp butter (one tsp per apple)
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp nutmeg
Cooking spray

Preparation Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Core apples, removing the tops and all the core and seeds inside. The insides may turn brown while you core them - have no fear, it won't affect the finished product.

How to Core an Apple

Once all the apples are sitting up, add one teaspoon of butter to the inside, bottom of each one. Put the apples in a shallow baking dish, cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

While the apples bake, mix all the remaining ingredients: brown sugar, flour, butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Remove the apples from the oven and uncover them. If the butter is not fully melted spread it throughout the inside of each apple - coating the walls thoroughly.

Fill each apple to the top with the mixture. Spray the top of each apple with cooking spray. When you do this be careful some of the mixture might dust off.

Put the apples back in the oven, uncovered, for another 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Allow the apples to cool for 5-10 minutes and serve hot.

Individual Apple Crisps

I’m thankful this season for my beautiful family and friends, near and far. For the opportunity to live in a country where I can proclaim my faith and not live in fear of persecution and for the ability to cook in the kitchen with my boys.

Thank you, Dominique and all your readers for allowing me to share with you today. Many prayers for you and your families this Thanksgiving.

Be Blessed,
Brittany

How to Core an Apple

Bendiciones,
Brittany
